From Employee to Owner.
Troutjig.com was previously owned by the King/ Luna family and was made successful by selling Jigs locally at DJ’s, a local bait shop in St. James for use at local fishing streams; Meramec and Montauk springs. I was hired by Mr. Luna while a Sophomore in high school in 2012 to paint Jigs. Over time I was able to expanded my role to also tie rubber legged and tinsel Jigs. I was fortunate to work for the Lunas throughout high school, college, and my first few years of being a teacher. I was able to purchase Troutjig.com in January of 2021 and continue the tradtion of making handmade trout jigs. All Jigs are handmade by myself or some of my high school students. I personally love to use these Jigs and am frequently found on my days off at Meramac springs trying to land that lunker.
